Copywriter

Job Description:

As a Demco Copywriter, you will be responsible for creating and executing innovative benefit and product description copy in a variety of mediums including traditional print, promotional, and interactive. Reporting to the Copy Supervisor, the Copywriter will collaborate with Designers and Product Managers to ensure client objectives are being met while producing inspiring concepts. In addition to being an exceptional writer, the incumbent will manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining close communication with clients. The Copywriter should be prepared to field questions about their creative concept, assimilate the feedback, and then work to deliver a strategically sound final piece. The successful candidate can expect to deliver a range of concepts to be created for each project, be self-motivated, and bring a positive attitude to work each day.

Qualifications:

In addition to a 4-year degree in English, Communications, or Marketing, the ideal candidate will have 1 to 2 years experience in direct mail copy writing and 1 to 2 years experience of copy writing in support of merchandising activity, preferable in direct mail and web. Candidates with prior experience in library or educational products are encouraged to apply. Interviewees will be asked to share portfolios which include examples of creative integrated marketing communication work.

Web Architect

Job Description:

Manage feature development projects for multiple E-Commerce and CMS websites, on a number of complex technological platforms. Employ development and design experience to apply appropriate usability and customer experience direction through collaboration with internal functional teams to develop solutions that meet the needs of the business. Applying best practices through existing and potentially new web systems. Buildrelationships that bridge Business Users and Technical Programmers. Enable appropriate solutions for Customers. Translate technical scope and make recommendations to non-technical individuals.

Employs appropriate Project Management skills to lead, define and manage projects, meeting deadlines and budget. Ensure that the features and websites we launch are aligned to the business goals and defined expectations.
Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in Web Development, including E-Commerce and Content Management Systems; Experience in Custom development, Licensed Software Systems and Open Source Tools.

The candidate will have working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript (including jQuery), Web Development Middleware Languages, XML and base knowledge of Web Server infrastructures.

Agency/Consultative experience a plus; Great communicator, ability to translate technical to non-technical people

3+ years Project Management; Exceptional verbal and written communications skills; effectively communicate critical problems and discuss resolutions with management; ability to translate complex technical problems into simple terms understandable to a non-technical audience. Full understanding of project management processes and tasks is also required.

Bachelor's degree in Business (or Management), Web Development, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required.

Systems Experience a plus: Endeca, WordPress, Joomla!, Adobe Analytics/SiteCatalyst, Google Analytics, HTML5, Mobile/Responsive Design

Position:

Production Artist

Location: Madison Office
Job Description:

Assist designers with the creation of visually aesthetic graphics and layout of content for websites, emails, catalogs and other collateral to support Demco’s marketing strategies. Tasks include efficiently pulling and organizing project/page information from the content management system; image manipulation and processing; edit html/css landing pages; slicing emails; tracking pages and prepping page/print files for release to vendors; reviewing soft and hard proofs; designing less complex emarketing and print projects; assisting with photography.

Qualifications:

Minimum two-year Associate degree in graphics, related field or equivalent graphic arts work experience. Must be able to work in a Mac environment and be proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, HTML/CSS, and the Microsoft Office Suite. Must be detail-oriented, able to meet deadlines, willing to do what it takes to meet team objectives and comfortable adapting to changing schedules, technology and processes.

Design Associate II

Location: Madison Office
Job Description:

Provides interior space planning, design proposals, and custom product design for small to large scale school, public and college learning environments. Creates proposals in 2D and rendered 3D as defined by project requirements. Develops associated project specifications to support budgetary, formal quotation and public bidding process. Works closely with internal and external sales teams to develop tailored design solutions. On occasion may be required to support sales team in face-to-face customer meetings and presentations as required.

Qualifications:

A 4 year Interior Design or Product Design degree or equivalent plus 2 years professional experience is required for this opening. Good written and verbal communication skills are also required. AutoCAD and 3D Max Design are required. REVIT experience preferred.
